Social Impact | Equality | EQ7 | Activities of the College Education for Pure Sciences (CEPS) in the Sustainable 1. Establishment of a Disability Support Division at CEPS At the College of Education for Pure Sciences (CEPS), we are unwavering in our commitment to support students with disabilities. Under the stewardship of the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, our dedicated team, comprised of volunteers, orchestrates a comprehensive support framework for these students. Our facilities include a portable manual wheelchair, designed for easy folding and maneuverability. Furthermore, we have undertaken significant modifications in our restrooms, enhancing their accessibility and safety for both our disabled students and faculty members (photo 1). 2. Enhanced Accessibility of the Campus for Individuals with Disabilities CEPS has diligently ensured that its infrastructure is welcoming and accessible to students with disabilities. The entrance of the campus is equipped with specially designed ramps, meticulously installed by our administrative team, to provide seamless access. Our building, which spans three floors, features ramps and stairs thoughtfully designed to aid disabled students in navigating to their classrooms independently or with the assistance of our dedicated volunteers and available wheelchair facilities (photos 2, 3). 3. Targeted Support Initiatives for Individuals with Disabilities CEPS has introduced targeted support measures to enhance the campus experience for individuals with disabilities. This includes the allocation of parking spaces, prominently marked and situated close to the campus entrance, exclusively for the use of vehicles owned by disabled students and staff. These measures ensure that all individuals can access and navigate the campus premises with ease and comfort, underscoring our commitment to inclusivity and support for every member of our community (photos 2, 3,). | |
