The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a workshop titled “Towards a Better Life: The Importance of Afforestation and the Role of Microorganisms in Plant Growth” on National Afforestation Day.

The workshop, presented by Dania Talib Mahdi and Mustafa Kareem Al-Azzawi, aimed to highlight the importance of afforestation globally and specifically in our country, addressing its effects on climate, health, and society.

It also discussed the role of microorganisms in plant growth and dissemination, emphasizing their contribution to providing vegetative cover for the environment.

The workshop recommended raising awareness to increase afforestation in the streets of our beloved city, even if it’s just one tree or seed per person.
